Radishing Recipes: Pizza with a twist

Indian Pizza

Makes 2 pizzas

For the toppings:

1/2 cup sliced white/red onion

1/2 cup sliced green pepper

1/2 cup Paneer cubes (I used frozen ones from Nanak)

4 tbsp yogurt

1 tsp red chili powder or Paprika

1 tsp Besan (Gram flour/Chickpea flour-available at most ethnic food stores)

Salt to taste

Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

1 tbsp chopped Cilantro

For the sauce:

3 chopped tomatoes

1/2 cup chopped red onions

2 cloves of finely chopped garlic

1/2 tsp red chili powder

1/2 tsp sugar

1/2 tsp salt

For the dough:

Making pizza dough is hard. I just bought pre-made ones from the store.

Prep Time: 15 mins

Cooking Time: 30 mins

  1. For the toppings: Put the yogurt, besan, red chili powder and salt into a bowl and mix them properly. Add the onion, capsicum, and paneer to it and let the toppings marinade for 10-15 minutes. After 10 minutes, take a pan and add a dash of oil to it. Add the toppings mixture to the pan and let it cook for 5 minutes. Keep it aside.
  2. For the sauce: Add a dash of oil to a pan and saute the chopped onion and garlic for 2 minutes. Add the chopped tomatoes, red chili powder, salt, and sugar and let it cook till the tomatoes are soft. After about 5 minutes, take it off the stove. Let it cool and then blend till it is smooth.
  3. Put the pizza bread onto a baking sheet. Spread the sauce onto it. Spread the cooked toppings with the sauce over the base sauce. Top with Mozzarella cheese and chopped cilantro. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Bake the pizza for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese melts.
